+++ Interview with ForceGrey and Riku Miyugasaku+++
Today we proudly present an interview with 14 years old Wintercup-Champion Riku Miyugasaku and the executive director of his team Dick Greyson who was at the same time one of the organisers of the Wintercup.
Turning to Dick Greyson:
1. Dick, which goals did you have for this event?
In my role as one of the organisers I wanted to gain as much public interest as possible. We were well prepared, still I didn't sleep too good the last nights before the first race. Anyhow, everything went well and the Wintercup for League 3 & 4 was a great success.
2. And which were your goals for the team?
We participated with 3 drivers, and we wanted to win at least 1 title.
3. Why did you decide to go in for the event with Michael and Riku beside yourself, and not with your other topdrivers Rey Fox and SpeedRacer? Especally Riku was quite a surprise for the media and the fans ...
In my eyes it's quite obvious why Michael and I started, noone has been really surprised. And of course Rey is a very talented driver, SpeedRacer and Kira as well. But if you consider Riku has much less experience than all our other drivers and has nontheless a high skill level you will notice his extraordinary talent. At the start of the event he was only in league 3, and thus he was an uknown quantity for the media as well as for the fans.
With that in mind it was logical to give Riku the chance to gain more experience ...
4. Have you been pleased with the organisation of the Wintercup for League 3 & 4?
First of all I want to say thank you to all the great teams and drivers who participated in League 3 & 4. Without them this event wouldn't have been such a great success.
Concerning your question - I really enjoyed having been able to witness such a great and highly competitive championship with so many talented drivers and professional teams. Even the laptimes were quite often faster than that of the higher leagues. And what's even more important: the interest of the media and fans was higher than in all the other leagues together!
5. I assume you are satisfied with Riku winning the championship?
(Smiling) We all are very proud of him for we didn´t expect that. But he was driving exceptionally well. Still he was just 1 of 8 stars. Also J Wayne, El Ron and all the others guys who took part in this event are now well known drivers. There were no loosers. Everyone was just having fun and taking advantages of the tournament. Some of the Team principals even called and congratulated me on the organization.
Now to Riku:
1. Riku, what did you think when you heard you will start at the Winterevent?
I don´t know ..... err... It did not feel real in the first moment. I was also a bit afraid of failing... However, Michael and also Mr. Greyson took care of me. They told me I don't have to win. ... Anyhow ... (blushing) I was still a bit afraid.
2. Can you tell us something about the first race at Monastic?
I was very excited and incredible frightened ... and then ... then I made this terrible mistake in the qualifying and had to start from the place next to last. The media wore me and especially Mr. Greyson down, and due to this I got even more frightened ... So I totally screwed the race ...
3. But you came in second ...
... Yeah ... but ... (silence)
4. So what was the difference between this race and the the next two races, Alaska and Norwegian?
I really don't know. Mr. Greyson told me it wasn't my fault but the car was to be blamed. And the car would do much better the next two races which cheered me up a bit ...
5. So what were your ...
Ah, and we also got new tyres!
5. Ok..What were your feelings after that 2 great races. You really dominated them.
I was really really happy when I noticed I finally had my first pole position. But somehow I couldn't believe how slow the others were. And after the race I didn't realize first I was the winner ... but Mr. Greyson and Michael and even the newsmen who had condemned us before congratulated me all the time! It was soo cool!! But to be honest that made me even more frightened to loose again ...
6. How did you experience the accident of Conan MacFhionghuain in Peruvian, and was there any impact on your duel with Speedmaster?
um... At first I didn't realize at all there was an accident. But Michael and a guy named kidsmoke schumacher told me - just before the award ceremony - I shouldn't close to that Conan guy ... mhh, what else did they say .. he had bad habits and that they didn't kow if a cute boy like me ... hmm ... nah, I forgot it ...
7. So did the accident influence your race?
No, not really .. Though I don't want anyone to be hurt ... But I am afraid of that Conan guy ... And additonally there was that thrilling duel with SpeedMaster. I don't know what would have happened if he wouldn't have made this bad mistake ... because he was faster than me ... again ...
8. Tell us about the Death-Race.
... That was so ... terrible ... I was the overall leader in the championship and due to this the pressure was extremly high. I could feel everyone expecting victory from me, even Mr. Greyson, though he said he didn't ... I knew he did.
9. Why?
He was in the pit 3 hours before the qualifiying started, preparing everything. And after my first lap he seemed to be really disappointed. Then he pimped up my car, changing half of the tuning parts, and thats why Michael couldn´t race... I was feeling so guilty. So ... the least I could do was to get that damn pole to start ahead of SpeedMaster and J Wayne. And I was really releeved I made it.
10. What were your feelings winning the championship with your 5th victory?
First of all I felt relieved and on top of the world! Alle the pressure was gone. But to be honest ... In my imagination being champion was different. I thought it would feel ... better, greater! But somehow nothing really changed. I was feeling the same - I was just a champion ...
11. Finally - what about the other drivers?
Hmm ... hang ... there was J Wayne, really cool and going like stink. In 3 races I wouldn't have had the slightest chance against him! And I liked El Ron Hubert, he always was friendly, telling funny stories and fooling around with John-Wat-Wollter.
That Karl-Indianer ... nah ... I didn't get to know him ... El Ron told me to stay away from him, he would have a bad influnece on me ... That's why I don't know him, the same is true for the driver who just started the last 4 races .. can't remember his name by now ... Did I forget someone else?
12. His name was Paul Brain, and you missed SpeedMaster and Conan MacFhionghuain
SpeedMaster barely talked to me, but I think he is actually nice too. He and his team seem to be a bit reserved ...
And as I said before - I'm a frightened by Conan, he is smelling strange and is wearing weird clothes ... and I was warned about him ...
13. So overall you enjoyed the championship and you are pleased with your results?
Yes, it was definitely great fun, though I was frightened sometimes to disappoint everyone ...
14. The last question is espacilly for our female readers: Do you have a girlfriend?
Er ... (empurples and Dick Greyson starts laughing in the background) not really ... I think ...
Ok, thanks Riku, and now again to Dick Greyson: You wanted to announce something?
Yes! This event was such a great success, so we plan another in the future. We also had the idea of doing it on all 4 servers together. It is possible, but we will need helping hands. So if anyone is interested in this, espacially on the french, the spanish or the english server please contact us via personal message in the german Forum or via email forcegreyfwan@googlemail.com (just english or german ;) ). Of course german help is also needed.
The rules and all other issues will be posted here during the next week.
A new event will definetly take place on the german server, and if there is enough interest we will organise it server spanning, on 2, 3, or even all 4 servers together (making this event much more interesting). I hope you will join!
Thank you Dick.
That was our last story from the winterevent on the german server. We hope you have enjoyed it, and that there will be a much bigger one in the near future!
Good Bye and happy new-racing year-2010.
